Sweet 'S'...

My sweet niece 'S' was born just days before my eldest daughter.  I love being able to photograph her- it is like photographing my own little ladies.  But she will make me work to get a smile out of her.  I just had to mention a cute little boy at preschool and she lit up.  Oh boy!

I love her eyes- it is like looking into a pond of lilypads!  So beautiful!

my girls...autumn 2010

Our family loves autumn!  The colors, the crispy leaves beneath your feet, the cozy sweaters and the fresh air.  We do lots of getting outside during autumn - sometimes more than summer.  The temp is just right in the Northwest for long outings with little ones.  No sunburns.

Food...Oh so pretty...

These are photographs from my commercial work for an event planning business of a friend.  Food is hard to photograph because I find I get distracted and want to eat everything I see.  Oh- it is so pretty.  And luckily, since this work was for a friend, I was able to enjoy a few treats.

Spring is coming!  I welcome it with open arms!

Boys are made of Snails and Puppy Dog Tails....

I have two daughters.  Our home is full of pink, tutus, sugar and spice.  I never thought I would have girls that girlie, but they love the pretty things.  I know girls and so when I need to photograph boys, I get a bit nervous.  The world of boys is foreign to me.  But these boys made me realize how simple boys can be.  Just give them dirt, give them a tree to climb and a branch to swing by and we have entered a boy's world.  And what is great about boys is they just do what they do and it is always something to be photographed.  I never even asked them to start swinging from the branches while I was photographing their dad and soon-to-be stepmother (lovebirds marrying in July).  No, they did that all on their own.  Truely, boys are something to be photographed.

I look forward to photographing their wedding this July!

Family Photo Extravaganza!

It really is the best time to take 'the family photo'- yes, it is during that busy holiday season that people try to fit in one more thing like a family photo.  But if not during the holidays, then when?  This family I photographed reminded me of my own holiday season this year.  They had one sibling in Hawaii and another in Nevada.  But everyone plus their families were home for the holidays.  That is when you need to take that little window of time between the ginderbread house decorating and caroling singing to STOP and capture the moment when all of you are in the same room.  It seems to be the thing I regret the most if not done and the first thing I plan on doing the next time we are all together.

On top of the stresses of the holidays, this family was also celebrating a first birthday the day before our photo shoot!  Good job family for managing the stress and looking beautiful.  It was really fun spending time with your lovely family.  There is so much joy shared!

These grandparents are in heaven!  Can you blame them?  Look how cute these kiddos are!
